BLAKE IS MYLES AHEAD!

The Surrey Youth Motorcycle Trials Sports Club held the third round of The Chris Norman Shield at their home ground at Brackendene, conditions were good but slippery in places for the 37 riders. Clerk of the course Steve Moore had introduced some new and slightly harder variations to the eight sections which were ridden four times in an anti-clockwise direction around the disused ornamental gardens utilising the banks, rockery and rubble piles.

Twelve year Blake Myles was victorious in the Novice class just 2 marks ahead of another twelve year old Connor Johnson, sister and brother Ella and Leon Barron shared third place on 7 marks lost with fourteen year old Ella Cashman taking fifth. Blake was wheel perfect on the rocky steps of the ornamental fountain at section five but lost his dabs on section two at Hutty’s Hill and the stream bank at section four.

Blake Myles took the win!

Six year old Revben Keey was Best Beginner followed home by eight year old Jacob Shill with ten year old Charles Rose and six year old George Campling sharing third place, seven year old Josh Lunt took fifth place. All these riders had trouble with the slippery stream banks at section six with an awkward cambered turn, George had a dab at section two whilst trying to pull a wheelie!

Eight year old Sam LeFevre on his electric Oset machine triumphed in the Support Class from another eight year old Taylor Burnell on his petrol Beta with ten year old Joseph Baker in third place and eleven year old Jack Holdsworth taking fourth. Sam has just returned from taking first place in Youth D (for 6 – 8 years) at the British Youth Championship Round at Chalfont and used all these skills to take victory. Section six was again troublesome to all these riders but Sam rode it best losing just 4 marks, he was also the only rider to take feet up rides through the bomb hole of section eight.

The Club had a stand at the local Black Cherry Fair in Chertsey and were delighted to win the £25 first prize for the best display, the prize money will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital. The fourth round of the club’s Chris Norman Novice & Beginner Shield will be held on Saturday 14th August at Kitsmead with kickstart time at 2pm, new members and spectators are now welcome; for further details contact Eddie Renham 01784 452225.
